The Red Cross uses Faith Community Ministries's services, facilities, and volunteers to support people in the midst of a natural disaster when victims need shelter. Ice and thunderstorms that cause major power outages, catastrophic weather that closes the Interstate, or apartment building fires that leave tenants homeless are some of the times when we convert to a Red Cross shelter. Volunteers function as assistants to the Red Cross and care providers to the victims in need of food and shelter. Volunteers’ contact information is maintained in a database so that they can be notified when needed.
