Course Description: The course provides a treatment of introductory issues, aspects of background that connect the narrative of Acts to the Pauline Epistles, hermeneutical principles regarding narrative literature and epistolary literature, and a functional analysis of key interpretive issues in the study of Acts and the Pauline Epistles. Students will learn a basic overview of the life and ministry of the Apostle Paul, including his personal background and contribution to the early church. In addition, this course will overview the background and cultural knowledge needed in order to fully understand the material in the books that fall into the category of Pauline Epistles. Participants of this course will gain an understanding of applying the theology and message of these books to our lives and to the Church today. Part 1 of this course will cover the book of Acts, Romans, & I Corinthians.

Note: This class will not meet on March 26 due to spring break.

Bio

B.S.—Secondary Education History, Northland International University

Phil and his wife, Amy, were married in 2004, and joined Faith Church in August of 2015. Phil was a teacher and coach in various roles at Christian school ministries for 12 years. He currently works at SIA. Amy has been faithfully serving in the Mom2Mom ministry since 2016, works full-time at Ivy Tech Community College, and works part-time for Faith Christian School. They welcomed their daughter, Kylie, in July of 2016, who currently attends Faith Christian School.
