Our housing provides affordable living to residents that seek to be members of a covenant community.
A covenant community is comprised of members who hold themselves and each other to the terms of a common agreement. At Faith West, our community is comprised of residents who sign a membership covenant that will indicate each person’s willingness to live in accordance with a high standard of moral conduct. The staff at Faith West hold residents accountable for living up to the terms of the covenant.
We have a roommate selection profile that you are welcome to fill out. We do our best to pair you up with roommates who have similar interests and personalities. We want you to have a good experience here! Please understand that as spaces fill up our ability to roommate match becomes more limited.
West Lafayette has a fantastic public transportation system called CityBus that provides rides to Purdue students at no cost. Route 10 stops right next to our building on Lindberg road and heads down to campus every 30 minutes. Route 4b stops across the road on Northwestern and heads out towards Walmart before returning to campus. More info about these routes can be found on CityBus’ website.
As mentioned above, electric is the one utility that you will split with your roommates. Other than that, we do require every resident to provide proof of renter’s insurance or coverage via a homeowner’s policy. We require a minimum of $100,000 liability coverage while you are residing here. You are welcome to select any provider that suits your needs.
Faith Church holds 9:30 and 11:00am worship services every Sunday in the main gym. On Thursday nights, Purdue Bible Fellowship (PBF) meets on the first floor at 7pm. On Friday nights, Purdue Bible Fellowship International (PBFi) meets on the first floor at 7pm. For more info about PBF and PBFi, please look here. These groups also do small group bible studies throughout the week at a variety of times and locations.
We do have a number of employment opportunities throughout the year. There are part-time hours for custodial/maintenance workers, front desk assistants, and teachers in the preschool. Café Literato has also hired some of our residents in the past, but they would need to be contacted directly about employment opportunities.
We know that meeting people is a large part of your college experience. We want Faith West to be a hub of activity where you are not holed up in your room but out and about meeting others and encouraging one another to live out your faith. Our residential life team seeks to plan and execute monthly activities and/or service projects to give you opportunities to meet your neighbors and build relationships. We also love it when our residents take it upon themselves to organize activities! We have Instagram and Slack groups dedicated to facilitating this type of interactions amongst our residents!
Whether you want to be a part of our church or campus ministries, or even just want opportunities to serve in the community, we are here to help you get connected. Perhaps the easiest way to get involved is to simply stop by the front desk and introduce yourself to our staff and ask where you can serve or get connected. We’d love to meet you and help you use your gifts to serve the Lord! You can also contact us at faithwest@faithlafayette.org.
