I. Praise God for his Amazing Grace
Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
A. God’s Grace reached us while we were dead in our sins
Romans 5:20 - The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more
B. God’s Grace results in our salvation
Romans 1:18 - For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
Romans 5:9 - Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
C. God’s Grace is an awesome gift
D. God’s Grace is received by faith
II. Rest in God because his Salvation cannot be earned
Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
A. Salvation is not of yourselves
B. Salvation is not of works
C. So that our boast is in Jesus and not in ourselves
III. Embrace the Purpose of God’s Grace by doing Good works
Ephesians 2:10 - For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
1 Peter 2:9 - But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
A. Because we are his workmanship
B. Because God designed you to do them
