Faith’s robotics team was created to give students hands-on experience working with technology. Students with interest in math and engineering can develop their gifts and apply them in an immediate, engaging way. Each year, the team designs, builds, programs, and operates a new robot through their competition season. In addition, there are promotional and presentation components for the team.
FCS competes as team 11272 Genesis in Indiana's Rover League, associated with the international FIRST program. The team has received several awards in league tournaments, and has placed well in state competitions, even qualifying for the world championship event in 2019.
Between competitions, the team also shares their work with the community. They do outreach presentations for the younger students at Faith, and have been invited to events at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry and the Indy 500.
Faith's robotics team is open to students in middle and high school. The team also has a number of corporate sponsors.
