MABC courses will be offered every spring and winter semester. Since different courses will be offered during the two semesters, students can make fast progress on the degree. At the same time, the course offerings provide students with a wide variety of choices to accommodate their schedules. It is best to plan your entire program from the beginning to accomplish your degree as quickly as possible and to ensure that course offerings and your proposed schedule match.
For more information on planning, check out the "planning your degree" section.
Spring Semester: Each spring there will be both online and module classes offered. FBS requires professors to provide syllabi four weeks before the start of classes. Course work will begin near the end of April for both online courses and residency courses. Internal residency weeks will occur in June. The professor for each course will be given some level of flexibility in his or her course schedule. Please see the syllabi for details regarding your course requirements.
Winter Semester: Each winter there will be both online and module courses offered. FBS requires professors to provide syllabi four weeks before the start of classes. Course work begins early November, allowing for two weeks off holiday. The winter semester is 17 weeks long counting the holiday weeks. The internal residency weeks will occur in mid-January. Professors have some flexibility regarding the dates and assignments for the courses taught.
8 Week Online classes offer our students maximum flexibility in completing their degree. Taking courses online allows you to get the training you desire on a timeline that works for you.
Our program could be 100% online. But the face-to-face interaction you get when you come to campus is too valuable to give up. Our residences are the times when you get to meet your fellow students face to face. FBS tailors these times not just for lectures. We give you opportunities to fellowship and make ministry connections with other likeminded students.
Listen to the end of the video to hear from Sarah about one of the ways coming to campus can encourage you in your faith.
For courses that have residency component, there will be approximately 31 hours of instruction for the week of internal residency on our campus in Lafayette. While the professor of the course will set the schedule, a sample residency week would be as follows:
